You have to be kinda dweeby to care, but IBM has apparently bought SPSS for $1.2 billion. SPSS is a major statistical package used to analyze data and is especially dominant in survey/public opinion work.As long as the IBM guys don't mess it up, should be okay. IBM press release here.
