Random blog posts about research in political communication, how people learn or don't learn from the media, why it all matters -- plus other stuff that interests me. It's my blog, after all. I can do what I want.

Why I Sometimes Hate Local TV News
Lots of local TV news is okay. Not great, but okay. And then there's this crap. Follow the link, see for yourself.
Don't blame the media, blame stupid people. News people are no smarter just because they appear in print or on the screen. Stupid people do stupid things. In this case, multiple stupid people because someone in authority had to sign off that this was a good idea for a story. The truly scary thing is that these people breed, and vote.
I've no doubt this seemed a good idea as they bounced it around and they got caught up in some groupthink. No one dared raise a concern, or even engaged in critical thinking.
